Remember this library search page? Now I have written a "discoverable" OpenSearch XML file that will allow you to add searching the SPL catalog to your Firefox 2 or, if you must, IE7, tool bar:
Sooner or later the library will probably change something that will break it, but for now it works, and it sidesteps loading at least one if not two slow SPL pages.
